The customer who had no other alternative but to stop their production line in case of non-availability of material was delighted to receive the products on time. Even in the face of such unprecedented uncertainty, Quaker Houghton made sure to stay true to its values. The second incident endorses the fact that adverse conditions can be overcome by grit and determination. During the pandemic, one of the biggest tractor manufacturers in the West had to start production under essential services to support the farmers. This client had reached out to Quaker Houghton to check the coolant conditions as it had been lying idle for months due to the lockdown. Quaker Houghton’s team immediately took charge and without hesitation, carried out their duties. The team took control of the shop floor; they not only checked the health of the coolant but also prepared it for production with a top-up of DM water and oil. The team had to obtain special approval for travelling to the manufacturing unit during the lockdown which posed immense challenges during the lockdown. Quaker Houghton, India rose to the occasion when a gross shortfall in blood reserves at the Aundh Civil Hospital in Pune, prompted them to take immediate action. The hospital witnessed an immense shortfall in blood and required urgent donations to save the lives of its thalassemia patients. The company’s team in Pune left no stone unturned in arranging a blood donation camp to mitigate the shortfall in blood within a short span of time. The team also raised awareness among other organizations in the vicinity, thus ensuring active participation by all.
