To facilitate the easy and quick start of new units in the machine tool industry, the Government of India, partnering with the Government of Karnataka has created an exclusive industrial park for machine tools, Tumakuru Machine Tool Park (TMTP) near Bangalore.
The TMTP has been designed to cater to the specific requirements of the Indian and Foreign machine tool industry and to create an eco-system whereby the machine tool majors along with the supply chain units will be co-located. This will bring synergic benefits to the units through closer interaction between OEMs and suppliers while reducing cost and delivery times for the overall benefit of the industry. TMTP is the first of its kind in the country and is supported by the Government of India. It will serve as a model for such parks in the future. The infrastructure has been developed to high standards and is ready for investors to occupy and commence operations.
We are happy to inform you that we have received applications from all major Indian Machine Tool OEMs and quite a few supply chain units. The first batch of applications has been considered by the empowered committee and land allotment has started. We have already allotted 118 acres of the 341 acres available for allotment at TMTP.
